I got backlash action
Make a living staring at walls
Need rock’n’roll for my poor soul
Go funkin’ round the floor
I got high-heeled sneakers
High-ride blues for boots
Need love and stuff to make me tough
Gonna go back to my roots
I ain’t Peaceful Patti
Gonna fire up my rocket car
Go bustin’ down the freeway
Makin’ like a movie star
Them dude-ranch hicks can’t get my kicks
Take the whiskey from my jar
It’s all backlash action, black flash action
Gonna shine like a shooting star
I got freeze frame dinners
Use my TV for a tub
I need rhythm and blues and blue suede shoes
And alcohol, massage and rub
I got speeding tickets
Lost my job down out the store
Need a rolling stone so the moss don’t grow
And I can jive right out the door
I ain’t Peaceful Patti
Gonna fire up my rocket car
Go bustin’ down the freeway
Makin’ like a movie star
Them dude-ranch hicks can’t get my kicks
Take the whiskey from my jar
It’s all backlash action, black flash action
Gonna shine like a shooting star
I ain’t Peaceful Patti
Gonna fire up my rocket car
Go bustin’ down the freeway
Makin’ like a movie star
Them dude-ranch hicks can’t get my kicks
Take the whiskey from my jar
It’s all backlash action, black flash action
Gonna shine like a shooting star

* This song is partly in the key of E and partly in the key of F#m.
* This was the second song by Alien Heat and the earliest surviving one.
* The guitar parts were written last and make little sense if the song is played with just guitar and voice.
* Graham and Marc wanted to play a drum’n’bass solo, so there is one of sorts in this.
* All the keyboard sounds were created by Richard from scratch on the DX7.
* George plays Nicodemus through two dirt pedals.
