CORNER CLOWNS

Corner Clowns by Dark Company.
Album: A for Acronym (CD 1: SNAFU)

CORNER CLOWNS
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Slippin’ round the edge of a hidden door
Waving at me daily from across the floor
Dancing through the dark in a conga line
Kicking up their legs, they look so fine

Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them

Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Slidin’ down the walls from the picture rails
Shouting at me rudely in grunts and wails
Hopping up and down in a vulgar way
Singing their songs of yesterday

Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them

Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Living in the skirting boards mouse’s holes
Showing me proudly what they stole
Shining lights round my room at night
But I keep my eyes shut real tight

Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them
Here they come again, I see them

* It describes the spirits and ghosts that lurk in corners when it’s dark.
* One for the children, but not very young children.
* This track has a wonderful fun feel to it somehow.
* The guitar break between verses two and three was composed by George when he was about five years old following a rather tedious morning in Sunday School, which he attended only thrice.
