THE WINDS OF HEAVEN

THE WINDS OF HEAVEN
Can you walk the twisted road
Do you know
Where the Legions of the Dawn came out of smoke
Can you make the Winds of Heaven turn around
Will you say that everything’s just breaking down

Can you find the fire clown’s crown
Is it so
Search the places of the nite where you can go
Can you make the Winds of Heaven turn around
Will you say that everything’s just breaking down

And go on home
With eyes of stone
While the people stare
And they just don’t care

Can you wear the judge’s crown
Bowing low
Can you teach the wounded moon to cease her glow
Can you make the Winds of Heaven turn around
Will you say that everything’s just breaking down

And go on home
With eyes of stone
While the people stare
And they just don’t care

Can you walk the twisted road
Do you know
Where the Legions of the Dawn came out of smoke
Can you make the Winds of Heaven turn around
Will you say that everything’s just breaking down

Can you take the tears of Angels
Make them go
Will you melt the frigid ice of Winter’s snow
Can you make the Winds of Heaven turn around
Will you say that everything’s just breaking down

And go on home
With eyes of stone
While the people stare
And they just don’t care

Fun Facts:

  • Much like Where Are You and Alpha Omega, a lot of the early music for The Winds of Heaven originated from Marc’s cluttered hovel in Countess Wear.
  • It was Marc who came up with the original classic rock riff.
  • The key of this song is Em.
  • It was another song that Alien Heat never really got to grips with.
  • Pete rewrote the vocal melody for the chorus when we were laying down guide tracks for the new recording in 2009.
