KNOWING, WE ARE
The Beast moves around the basement
Its shadows on the wall
I find the door to the bottom floor
But it’s not me at all

Face that’s shined in the morning
The one I carry outside
It smiles and talks and even walks
The body round to which it’s tied

Everything is too well used
There is nothing new to do
The games are all played and I am afraid
There’s no-one to answer to

It’s dark behind the daylite
The music’s all been made
“Rock and Roll will save your Soul!”
That’s what they used to say…

I’m a lone voice forever captured
By the beauties of the past
When hope and dope were the Masters
And Alice laid the looking glass
